| SPRING PISTOLS, RIFLES & SHOTGUNS
|
Spring pistols, rifles and shotguns are undoubtably the most popular models of airsoft gun available. |
| Fun to shoot with, easy to maintain, and relatively inexpensive - springer models are favourites with newbies and experienced shooters alike. They aptly satisfy the requirements of both entry level and advanced enthusiast by way of simple operation combined with constantly evolving technical innovation. The major appeal of an airsoft spring gun is it's durability and low failure rate. |
| As all our Officially licensed replicas of famous firearms such as the Desert Eagle, Smith & Wesson, Taurus, DPMS Panther Arms - all spring pistols / rifles are true to scale (many are also true to weight). All are simple to operate and have proven to be excellent guns for both collecting and recreational use. |
| Spring models require cocking by hand - this usually involves pulling back the top-slide before taking each shot - adding further realism to the action. Many models also have additional features such as Spin Up ballistic systems and heavyweight casings. |
| With the aid of simple manpower, a piston head within a cylinder moves rearward to draw air into the cylinder and at the same time compresses the spring behind the piston. At the end of the piston head travel, a hook or 'seal' engages the piston and holds it in place with the spring at full compression. |
| When the trigger is pulled, the seal releases the piston, allowing it to travel forward via the energy released by the compressed spring. The pressure generated inside the cylinder creates a jet of air that propels the BB and sends it on its way through the barrel and outward to the target.
